Plant resources of the Cheng - Ta rung area, the Vietnam - Laos frontier area

Cheng - Ta Rung is frontier area, belonging to Sannavakhet province (Laos) that used to been Vietnam (before 1975). The natural forest was presentative at almost area of the forest land there with the area of 9146.5ha (87.37% of the total land area). It includes a small area of rich forest (403.2ha) and poor forest (647.3ha). The bigger area of the natural forest was covered by medium forest, on the 8099.5ha of area. The plantation was occurred in a small area, 43 ha. The area of bamboo forest was 1279.7ha and presentative in 12.24% total of land area. The non forest land area was common there that was ineffective and unsuitable used. The forest resources were strongly exploited but there is a big potential to develop the forestry economic in the sustainable management in exploitation and plantation and enhancing in immigrations and conditions.
